Few cars are the subject of as much speculation as the next-generation 2013 SRT Viper. Set for an April reveal at the New York Auto Show, for many people the unveiling cannot come soon enough. SRT isn’t helping matters by teasing us with outlines of the car and close-up shots of the carbon fiber hood scoop. We’ve even gone so far as to dredge up potential Hot Wheels cars that may or may not have revealed the new Viper’s look early.
Over at Autoblog, they’re fueling the fire with these photographs from an anonymous tipster of what looks like a molding for the new Dodge Viper hood and grille. Is this the real deal?
Could be, based on numerous the leaked photos and teaser shots we posted above. This molding has the same hooded-snake-looking hood scoop as the teaser shots and Hot Wheels car. The lower grille replaces the Dodge cross hairs with something similar, but different enough to set it apart from Chrysler’s “economy” brand.
While we won’t not for sure if this is what the front end of the new Viper will look like, the puzzle pieces are really starting to come together. Chrysler’s worst-kept secret is being revealed piecemeal, and at this rate by the time the New York Auto Show comes around, we’ll all know what the Viper looks like already.
