We often opine about how beloved American muscle cars are all around the world. Dictators, car collectors, and street racers alike all have their own favorite American muscle car. In places like Europe, high gas prices mean that only the wealthiest people can usually afford to own this beastly automobiles, but that doesn’t keep them from stomping the accelerator and shredding rubber every now and then.
You need look no further than this video we found for proof. This video of a classic Dodge Coronet doing a burnout side by side with a Super Bee shows that even European royalty knows how to get down with American muscle.
As many of you probably already know, the Dodge Super Bee was a souped-up Coronet, usually powered by a 440 Six-Pack or 426 HEMI (though a high performance 383 was available as the base engine.) The Coronet was Dodge’s full-sized offering, the true definition of American muscle. So what better place to put them to use than the beautiful mountains of Austria?
We’re not sure if it’s just the camera angle or what, but the Coronet and Super Bee that line up in this video appear to burning out up a mountain road. It’s a cool video for sure, and while we anticipated that the Super Bee would lay down the most rubber, in our opinion it was the black Coronet that put on the best show. Do you agree, or would you rather side with the more famous Super Bee?
