This past weekend the Southern California Spring Festival played host to thousands of Mopar fans who flocked to the scene in their late-model Chrysler’s. Among the many attendees were plenty of modern Challengers, arriving with style and poise as they rumbled into the festival where gawkers of all ages looked on.
Chrysler unveiled a special treat for the Mopar faithful this weekend; a first look at an all new Challenger package, the Rallye Redline Edition, part performance and part looks for the V6 muscle car.
The Rallye Redline package, as you might expect, includes a bright red racing stripe. Additional exterior flair comes from larger 20-inch wheels accented with red as well. Inside you can opt for Radar Red leather seats to complete the crimson theme. It’s the second “Redline” car from Dodge, the first being a massively powerful Dodge Charger.
As far as performance goes, the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine gets help from bigger brakes and a handling package that includes larger sway bars, firmer shocks, and 25% quicker steering. Listed at $28,745, the Challenger Rallye Redline still comes in under the base Challenger R/T while still offering bold looks and adequete performance from its V6 engine. We expect to see the Challenger Rallye Redline on display at next week’s New York Auto Show, where we will bring you live pics.
