We spend a lot of time trolling eBay for cars to add to our dream garage, cars to write about, or just cars to drool over. But seeing as how eBay is now a worldwide website, each region has its own eBay. That means sometimes we don’t get a chance to see the cooler cars produced locally in places like the UK, South Africa, and Australia.
That’s where other bloggers come in. The fellows over at Carscoop came across this sweet 1969 Ford XW Falcon GT clone for sale on the Aussie version of eBay, and it has us saying “Crikey!”
For many Aussies, the ‘69 XW Falcon helped usher in a new era of muscle cars in the Land Down Under, and it was made all the cooler because it came in sedan, ute, and even wagon configurations. This particular vehicle is a wagon, an authentic clone to the original XW Falcon GT that took the builder three years to put together.
This 1969 Ford XW Falcon GT is a clone...but a very well done clone (sans the gold wheels).
Under the hood is a 351 Windsor engine (later Falcons got the Cleveland) and the seats, console, dashboard, and headlining are all authentic Falcon GT parts…though this wagon is a clone, and not an original, and neither are those gold 18-inch wire wheels. If you ask us though, that is perfectly fine. We wish muscle wagons had had a bigger impact here in America, but we guess we can let the Aussies have this category for themselves.
