Since we spend all day, every day trolling the Internet for the latest and greatest in American muscle car awesomeness, we think it is safe to say that we’ve seen a lot of stuff. There aren’t many cars out there that really make us step back from the computer and go “Wow, that’s nuts!” Such rides are few and far between, unique works of both art and passion.
Up for sale on Craigslist is a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle boasting not one, but two Oldsmobile 455 V8 engines; one under the hood, and one in the trunk. That adds up to 910 cubic-inches of all-American performance, all-wheel drive, and a clean-looking ride that is sure to draw lots of looks at the local car show.
The two 455 V8s are hooked up with front-wheel drive differentials. The differentials most likely borrowed from an Oldsmobile Toronado, a foolhardy foray into the world of front-wheel drive muscle cars. Hooking these engines up was certainly a difficult endeavor, and the seller claims that car was valued at over $40,000 way back in 1992.
1992 was the year the car was featured in a magazine, but since then it has apparently been hidden out in a South Jersey garage. The asking price? A very-reasonable $11,000. There aren’t many cars that can grab as much attention as this twin-engined Chevelle for such a low, low price. It will probably need some work, but if you’re up to it, you’d have one cool and unique car.
