Classic cars are more than just a means of getting from Point A to Point B. They can become vessels that carry our memories, projects around which we grow close to family members, and mementos to pass on to our kids. But sometimes circumstances dictate that a classic car must be sold, and while it may be the right decision at the time, some people spend a lifetime regretting letting go of the “one that got away.”
That is where the new show “Restoration Reunions” comes in. We talked about this show last year, but now it appears that the pilot episode has been picked and a total of eight episodes ordered, reports Hemmings Auto Blog. But the producers are still looking for compelling stories to air on the show.
The concept behind Restoration Reunions is simple: the producers attempt to track down long lost cars that have special meaning to their former owners. After tracking down these cars, they restore them and surprise the owners with their classic, freshly-restored rides. Restoration Reunions is specifically looking for people who want to surprise a brother, a friend, or another family member.
That isn’t to say former owners aren’t encouraged to reply, either. The show is just seeking interesting stories about the “one that got away”, and if you ask us, television could use some quality automotive programming. With all the bad stuff on the news these days, seeing some car owners reunited with their long lost loves sound absolutely heartwarming.
