Ask any Star Wars fan what their favorite fighter craft from the original trilogy was, and most of them are likely to tell you the same answer; the freakin’ X-Wing fighter piloted by Luke Skywalker against the original Death Star. Alas, we are unlikely to ever see something as cool as a real X-Wing in our lifetime…but that hasn’t stopped some car enthusiasts from doing their best to replicate the famous starfighter.

This Mercury Grand Marquis modified into a Rebel Alliance X-Wing starfighter comes from, where else but the Portland, Oregon, area of Craigslist. A veteran of the Dumball Rally, this unique road-going starfighter is now up for sale for a very reasonable price. And it’s hard to argue with that level of attention to detail.

This car was put together for the Dumball Rally, a 750 mile rally race/scavenger hunt all over the West Coast. According to the seller this 1992 Grand Marquis performed admirably in the race, though the leaking heater core was bypassed, so it lacks warmth for the cold emptiness of space.

Thankfully, the plywood X-wings fold onto the trunk lid for travel, and the rattlecan paintjob even has some authentic-looking battle damage included. Powered by a classic 5.0 V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission, this is one unique ride that is impossible to ignore, and for just $1,059 to boot!

At such a low price, how could you say no to this Death Star-destroying Mercury? At the very least it could serve as an important prop in any Star Wars-related fantasies you might be harboring.
