This weekend ushered in the official start of the fall season, and that means that the annual SEMA trade show in Las Vegas is just around the corner. With less than eight weeks to go before the automotive aftermarket takes over Sin City, companies and marketing reps are already beating the press drums, trying to garner some early attention for their projects.
HRE Wheels is one of the first companies out of the gate with their SEMA project car, though they’ve declined to go into specifics just yet. Instead all HRE Wheels is saying is that their SEMA project is a 1,200 horsepower “surprise”, along with the inclusion of a 1970 Camaro rendering that inlcudes a list of (we assume) sponsors.
Working in conjunction with Pure Vision LLC, the same design house behind the Martini T5-R Mustang that stole last year’s SEMA Show, the “1,200 horsepower surprise” is almost certainly the Camaro featured in the attached rendering. With the inclusion of Nelson Racing Engines as a sponsor, it will almost certainly be a turbocharged NRE mill powering this wicked Camaro.
Firelli Tires, ARP fasteners, and custom parts designer Anvil Auto are also among the project sponsors, promising a top-notch ride for the year’s biggest car show. While the rendering doesn’t look too radical, we’re still looking forward to seeing the whole ride unveiled, and getting to the bottom of this 1,200 horsepower surprise HRE is talking about.
