If you ask movie buffs what is the best car chase scene of all time, the almost universal answer is sure to be the 10-minutes of San Francisco savagery from the Steve McQueen masterpiece, Bullitt. While everyone of course remembers Frank Bullitt’s forest green Mustang, there was also the badass black Dodge Charger driven by the bad guys to consider, for without the Charger there is nothing to chase.
Realizing this, Hotchkis Sport Suspension is rolling out not one, but two badass cars for the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, both wearing some all-new hardware.
Indeed, Hotchkis intends on “recreating” the famous Bullitt chase scene at SEMA with a Pro-Touring style Bullitt replica that will go head-to-head with actor Patrick Warburton’s very own badass black Dodge Charger. This is all to display a new bolt-on suspension system for classic Mustangs that includes front coil springs, rear leaf springs, front and rear sway bars, and monotube shocks, and will involve some sort of reenactment of the famous chase scene.
The Bullitt Mustang replica will feature a Hotchkis Stage 1 Total Vehicle System, as well as Hotchkis-tuned shocks, as will Warburton’s Charger. Both cars will be on display at the Hotchkis booth in SEMA, and we’re sure plenty of gawkers will flock to see not just two real-life hero cars, but the new products that the suspension specialists at Hotchkis are rolling out. If you could only take one of the two cars home though, which would you pick?
