Ford Rolls Out Custom Focus STs For SEMA Show

Focus-UTIThe countdown to the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas is down to less than two weeks, and we’re prepared to weather an onslaught of custom rides from every big-name tuner, designer, shop, and automaker in America. Ford is going especially bonkers this year, with 57 custom rides ranging from Mustangs to Fiestas rolling out on their massive Dreamcase display.

But you didn’t think the Blue Oval would leave the peppy Focus ST out, did you? Ford will bring four custom Focus STs to SEMA in November with some throwback colors and serious performance to go around.

A team of Universal Technical Institute students put together the first of these four custom Focus STs, posted at the top, sporting the legendary blue-and-orange Gulf livery that Ford made famous in the 1960s with the GT40. Neil Tjin contributed to the exterior look, while the UTI team added a Vortech supercharger, side exhausts, a high-flow cat, and bright white Forgestar wheels.

Focus ST by PM Lifestyle

Inspired by SoCal car culture, PM Lifestyle modified their Focus ST with a low-slung look and plenty of modifications to the 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine. Banks Power, Ford Racing, and COBB Tuning had their hand in modifying the engine, while a new and improved suspension assure it can handle the wide, smooth roads of Southern California’s street racing culture.

Focus-GreenFilter

Speaking of racing, yet another classic livery was revived by GreenFilter USA, which brought by famously green racing livery of the Lotus Formula One team. Aside from a modified suspension and the eye-grabbing paintjob, GreenFilter left well-enough alone, and you won’t hear us complaining. Just like Colin Chapman preached, simplify and add lightness.

Focus-DRAGG

Last, but not least, is a Focus ST focused on preventing street racing. Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffitti designed the police-like Focus ST with the idea that legal drag racing against the police is a better option than dangerous street stunts. A Borla exhaust, Eibach springs, Wilwood brakes, and Motegi wheels help this Focus keep up with all but the fastest street racers.

By our count, there are still plenty of custom Fords waiting to debut. What else is on your SEMA wishlist?
