We’re starting to wonder if all these spy photographers have been getting lucky, or if Dodge isn’t deliberately dangling new cars out to us. It’s no secret that there has been a lack of new Chrysler products since the Pentastar declared bankruptcy last year. That all seems to be changing rather quickly though, as more and more of their new cars are caught out in the open, camouflaged but not completely hidden.

These spy pictures from Motor Authority clearly show the new Dodge Charger SRT8. Even under all that camouflage, we can see some key new features on Chrysler’s refreshed sedan.

These latest spy shots come hot on the heels of a bunch of 2011 Chargers caught without camouflage down in Puerto Rico. While those Chargers were being used on the set of Fast and Furious 5, this car is clearly out in the desert for some warm weather testing. So what makes us think this is the SRT8 Charger, and not just a regular ho-hum version?

Undoubtedly that large bulge above the decklid is the canvas covering the characteristic SRT8 wing. We also notice a considerable bulge on the hood hinting at an equally characteristic SRT8 hood scoop.

The first indicator are those big black wheels. They are the same wheels we saw on the SRT8 Cherokee, which indicates to us that Chrysler might be looking for a little more continuity between its SRT8 models. Then there are the dual exhaust tips poking out of the rear bumper, or the fact that this Charger is hauling a sizable trailer (just like the Cherokee). While it is a very well camouflaged car, we get a very clear look of the new front fascia and crossbar grill. We like what we see, Dodge just needs to hurry up and get us some glamor shots already.
