Black Diamond Mustang Set for Honorary Position at 2012 SEMA Show

Being able to attend the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas is special in it’s own right, but having the opportunity to have your car on display with one of the industry’s leading companies during the show is downright extraordinary. And that’s exactly what Royal Purple was offering for the second year in a row to two very lucky car owners through their Show it Off at SEMA contest. The competition was tough this year but after votes were cast and deliberations made, two very special cars came out on top- one of which happens to be an amazing 1965 Mustang convertible named Black Diamond.

In order to be selected as one of the winners of the Show it Off at SEMA contest, owners Todd and Stephanie Foust had to first upload pictures and a bit of information about Black Diamond and then make it through a round of voting by their peers. Making it to the top ten was easy, but it was out of their hands from there with the decision for the winners going strictly to a panel of judges. Armed with plenty of specifications and pictures, the judging panel couldn’t resist awarding Black Diamond with a spot in the Royal Purple booth at SEMA.

Black Diamond is certainly worthy of the honorary position at the 2012 SEMA Show. Having been built by Classic Restorations of Southern Indiana, the classic pony car has a beastly Ford Racing Boss 374ci engine, built by Demon SixShooter, under the hood matted to a Ford AODE transmission prepared by Bowler Performance. But Black Diamond is more than just a killer powertrain.

Bona fide show car, Black Diamond has every aspect of a gorgeous pro-touring car down, from the exquisite exterior finish to the goodies that lay beneath.

Under the car, you’ll find a modified Total Control Products coil-over front suspension with TCP power rack and pinion steering. In the rear, you’ll once again find TCP products like a G-link, coil-overs and an anti-roll bar tied together nicely with a 9-inch rearend.

Giving the car plenty of pavement gripping power are one-off Forgeline wheels with custom center locks wrapped in BF Goodrich P215/35ZR18 and P275/35ZR18 rubber. Black Diamond is also equipped with 13-inch Wilwood rotors in the front and 12-inch rotors in the back for adequate stopping power.

From the one-off Forgeline wheels to the custom interior, Black Diamond has everything you'd want to see in a SEMA Show car and then some.

Inside the Mustang, you’ll find a fully custom black interior complete with racing harnesses, cage and all-black accessories done by Cutter’s Custom Stitchin’ and accentuated by custom millwork done by C. Cook Enterprises. This sleek interior compliments the car’s deep Black paint scheme, tying the car up into an impressive tribute to yesteryear.

Having your car displayed at the annual SEMA Show is an amazing honor. Congratulations goes out to the Fousts for achieving such a designation and we look forward to seeing the car in Las Vegas in just a couple weeks!
