In 2011, Cadillac rekindled the fires of competition by entering its CTS-V coupe into the Pirelli World Challenge Series. But it wasn’t until last year that Cadillac kicked it up a notch and started dominating races, going on to win both the driver and manufacturer championship in the GT class. And you can bet they’re looking to start a winning streak.
So it is no surprise that ahead of the opening race of the 2013 World Challenge season, Cadillac has rolled out pictures and info on the newly-upgraded Cadillac CTS-V Coupe competitor.
While other competitors, including Ferrari and BMW, have already unveiled their competition cars, Cadillac waited until the week before the opening race at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg to showcase their new car. Alas, despite claims of aerodynamic enhancements, Cadillac provides little in the way of details… perhaps not wanting to tip off the competition.
Regardless, Cadillac has kept the winning racing team together, with Champion Johnny O’Connell and runner-up Andy Pilgrim racing for the team once again in 2013. These two are no doubt looking to repeat their past year’s performance, though other competitors no doubt hope to score a few victories for themselves. Cadillac still has the talent, but will the speed and precision of this luxury race car pay off on the track, again?
