Hemmings Auto Blog came across a for sale post of the Dan Rose Special, a one-of-a-kind Shelby Daytona replica that is in many ways its own car.
Dan Rose bought the car in 2007, and set about making many minor, but important, changes. Among the many stylistic manipulations Rose did to this Daytona was extending the quarter-windows past the B-pillar, altering the hood and windshield, eliminating the spoiler, and tweaking the nose. It still looks like a Daytona, but at the same time, it doesn’t.
And that is what makes a special car even better. With a 427 V8 under the hood bearing a $10,000 price tag, this Daytona can get out of its own way with ease. A five-speed transmission, fully-adjustable coil-over suspension, and tubular monocoque chassis are just a few of the modern touches that make the Dan Rose Special…special. The asking price is $64,500.
