Buying in bulk is a good way to save money, whether it be groceries or car parts. Often times groups of car enthusiasts will get together for a “bulk buy” of a certain part, thereby bringing down the price for everyone. Car collectors have been known to do the same thing, selling parts of their collection to get rid of more stuff, faster.
We’re not sure if that is the case here, but we did come across a very interesting eBay auction for a pair of classic Ford muscle cars. Up for auction is a color-matching 1970 BOSS 302 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang.
Now to own any one original BOSS Mustang or Cougar is to own an inherently rare and awesome car. There just aren’t that many around (though clones are plentiful.) We are operating under the assumption that these are both authentic cars, as the asking price is $110,000…which actually isn’t all that much for a pair of real BOSS cars. BOSS 302 Cougars have been known to draw upwards of $70,000, and a well-documented BOSS 302 Mustang can easily pull $100,000 by itself. So maybe they aren’t real BOSS’s…
But then again, this may be the only matching pair of ’70 BOSS cars in existence, and a deal like this doesn’t come up every day. It’d be a great start to a color-coordinated car collection, and for a bargain price.
