Given the width and breadth of the Mustang community, just about every tragedy imaginable has impacted the life of a Mustang owner. Sometimes though, awful events can lead people to try and make powerful changes in the world for the good of all. And what better way to raise awareness to a cause than to give away a classic car like a 1966 Mustang?
North Andover Patch reports that during Monday night’s Board of Selectmen meeting, Joe DiPietro announced a fundraising event where the grand prize would be his most prized possession; a 1966 Ford Mustang.
DiPietro, who is President of the Protect Mass Children foundation, spent over two years working on this fully restored ’66 Mustang. It is a numbers matching, all original car valued at about $48,000, and DiPeitro’s own blood and sweat went into this car. But he is giving it away for a good cause, to protect the children of Massachusetts from sexual predators.
His family was a victim of DiPietro, which is what prompted him to start this foundation. The Mustang raffle should go a long way towards funding the group, which supports harsher laws for sexual predators. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased through the group’s website. There are few creatures lower than a sexual predator who preys on kids, and if we had it our way…well, we won’t go there. But suffice to say, this is a chance for you to win a beautiful classic Mustang and contribute to an important cause to boot.
