The Internet has no doubt changed the way we communicate with each other. The king of home entertainment, however, remains cable television. Almost 60% of homes still subscribe to basic cable services, and the popularity of niche television channels has exploded. For gearheads channel surfing, one almost always comes to a halt on Speed Television, home to many great shows like Pinks: All Out and Two Guys Garage.

Two Guys Garage recently featured McLeod Racing twin-disc setups, and did a fine job of explaining just how the system works.

Using two phone books with their pages interlaced, the hosts of Two Guys Garage, Bryan Fuller and Kevin Byrd, explain that it is the same concept with twin-disc clutch systems. The friction between the pages keeps them together, the same way the discs clamp down to hold on to power. Not only do McLeod’s twin-disc systems hold up to a 1,000 horsepower, but they don’t require a ton of spring pressure to do it, meaning you don’t have to stomp the pedal to get into gear. For high-horsepower clutch setups that won’t work your left leg like half a Stair Master, twin-disc units are the way to go.
