Back right before this year’s SEMA show, Ford started teasing us with the next big addition to their parts catalog. We just didn’t realize how big of an addition it was until Ford revealed the full scope of this new part; a completely new 1967 Mustang convertible body. Built to the same specifications, but with a lot of modern improvements, this new body is the perfect start for new resto-mod projects. And now, it has a price. Ford wants $15,995 for the base ‘67 Mustang droptop body. What do you get for that kind of money?A brand new body, actually built by Dynacorn International, the body has Ford’s stamp of approval, meaning that it that meets or exceeds Ford’s own specifications. Dynacorn took the “exceeds” part to heart, making the body panels slightly thicker and welding them together using modern welding techniques. The body panels were also reinforced to hold up to the extra horsepower and handling mods that new owners are sure to throw at them.
The ‘67 convertible body is the fourth classic Mustang body introduced by Ford and Dynacorn. The other current options are a ‘65 convertible, a ‘67 fastback, and a ‘69 fastback body. Each carries about the same price (give or take a few hundred bucks) and is sure to appeal to pro-touring and hot rodder types alike. With four new Mustang bodies to choose from, which would you prefer for your own dream project car?
