Dart has made available this week their new SHP Pro engine block, which was designed to meet the demands of engine builders looking for the affordability, improved block weight, and design that allows for more powerful combinations.

The SHP Pro blocks sports all the best features found in the original SHP block, including priority main oiling, siamesed bores, extra thick decks, and compatibility with a wide range of OEM parts. Of course, a new and improved block wouldn’t be complete without several powerful new features, such as billet main caps, a big block cam bore, and larger .904 lifter bores. These design elements make the Dart SHP Pro block an ideal offering for applications that will utilize higher spring pressures and run at higher RPM ranges.

A block such as the SHP Pro has been in high demand from engine builders who wish for a more flexible range of options with an affordable price tag to boot. The increased strength and stability of this new block will certainly make it the nucleus of many high horsepower engine buildups.

In addition to the SHP Pro block, Dart has announced a new cast aluminum intake manifold intended for use with their revolutionary raised port 9-degree small block cylinder heads. This manifold features a symmetrical split two piece design that has been created to simplify extensive porting work, and is configurable for both 4.400″ and 4.500″ bore space cylinder heads. And as a cast manifold, it comes at a much lower price point that custom, sheet metal offerings.
