When we walked into the 2011 PRI tradeshow each morning we were greeted with the #28 Ford from Roush Yates Performance warming up on a Dynojet chassis dyno. Throughout the day we would hear the Ford doing pulls, and each time the Sprint Cup car would make a run it would attract hundreds of onlookers to see the Ford in action. After seeing and hearing the #28, we just had to stop by the Roush Yates booth to get the lowdown on not only the Ford but also the Dynojet Chassis Dyno.

“The #28 is a very legendary number to us,” explained Jeff Clark. “It was Robert Yates first number as a car owner, and has a lot of history in our minds, and we are really proud of it, and proud to have it here.”

The #28 was being ran on the brand new 224XLC Dynojet Dynamometer that Dynojet also had sitting inside of their booth. “Dynojet Chassis Dyno’s has been our benchmark for testing everyweek when we go to the ractrack,” Jeff clark told us. “We use the dyno everyweek to validate the engine performance, and eliminate anything that could be wrong before we go to the racetrack.”

Roush Yates like other race teams has been using Dynojet Chassis dynos for quite sometime and has always been impressed. “The Dynojet product has been very consistent, and very dependable,” Jeff Clark explained to us. “Our relationship with them is more than 10 years old, their customer service is phenomenal and their product speaks for themselves.”

The details that emerge from using a Dynojet dyno aren’t all just about horsepower numbers as Clark would explain to us, “The chassis dyno is used to measure power, but the bigger and more important aspect is power under the curve, or average power. The details that we can fine tune before we get to the racetrack is very important for producing the best product on raceday.”

Roush Yates is synonymous with NASCAR, but people often forget that they also build engines for the grassroots motorsports as well. Make sure you visit their website to see all the engine packages that they offer.

We were extremely impressed by the new Dynojet chassis dyno, but also by the Roush Yates #28. If you are looking for a new dynamometer for your shop make sure you take a look at what Dynojet has to offer!
