Every winter we are inundated with cars from Detroit’s Big Three heading to Barrett-Jackon’s famous auction block. Often these cars take the form of special editions, like the Indy 500 Pace Car and the only Grabber Blue 2012 Boss 302 Mustang. But aftermarket shops get in on the action too, and most of the real attention-getters come now from the manufacturers, but these independent gearheads.

Ridetech, for example, has sent their very cool ’68 “Velocity” Camaro to Barrett-Jackson’s auction. After over two years on the pro-touring circuit, it’s time for this one-of-a-kind Camaro to change hands.

When it first hit the street, Ridetech’s Velocity Camaro was an absolute monster with a 630 horsepower LS2 engine under the hood. That hasn’t changed, and neither has the Corvette ZR1-sourced six-speed manual transmission or Ford 9” rear end. Of course as you might expect from Ride Tech, it their Titanium Series Shockwave air shocks for unparalleled handling and smooth driving. Baer brakes, a vintage air conditioning system, and other upgrades bring this classic muscle car into the 21^st century.

It’s also one of the few cars in the world to have real metal racing stripes, as opposed to paint. The metal was covered with clear coat, giving it something of an industrial look. It’s a unique, awesome automobile, and we wonder how much it will go for at the Barrett-Jackson auction on Saturday. What would you pay for this fine looking ride?
