One of the best things about attending the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas is you are treated to some of the most amazing rides you’ll ever see. When you enter the building you’ll see some of the most customized and tricked out rides in the country. But every now and again you’ll stumble across a simple restoration that will catch your eye. A perfect example is this ’72 Chevelle SS that turned our head during the show.
The convertible Chevelle sat in the Original Parts Group inc. booth, and is a frame off restoration completed by JH Restorations and Customs out of Riverside California. The car wasn’t much to look at when it first arrived at JH Restorations back in march, but in less than 8 months they completed an amazing build.
Joel Hoffman owner of JH Restorations has been doing Original Parts Group Showcars for the past 7 years, and even admits because of how bad the condition was, this probably wasn’t a car that you normally would restore. Based on the photos, you can tell just how much work really went into the Chevelle. The convertible features a 454 Big Block, and a working cowl induction.
Almost every piece inside and out came from Original Parts Group Inc. JH Restorations replaced the old trunk panels, floor panels, quarter panels, carpet, seat upholstery, the convertible top, all new trim, new bumpers, a brand new engine, brand new paint job, new emblems, exhaust, chassis, dash, and center console to just name a few.
