There has been a dearth of quality car movies as of late. Sure, you might be a fan of the Fast & Furious series, but most of us car guys can only shake our heads and sigh at the over-the-top action and Vin Diesel’s endless one-liners. “Deathproof” is the last quality car movie we can think of, and that movie came out years ago. Yet there might be an equally awesome movie coming soon with a plethora of kickass cars.

Take a gander at this trailer for “Drive Angry,” a new Nicolas Cage flick that has both an awesome name and at least five quality classic cars in the trailer alone. We finally have a movie we can look forward to.

This movie isn’t too far removed from other Cage movies, like “:Gone in 60 Seconds” and “Ghost Rider.” In this next installment of craptacular cinema, an unnamed anti-hero has broken free from hell in a bid to set things right on Earth. Apparently breaking free from hell requires plowing through flaming debris in a classic Chevy. Our anti-hero has to save his murdered-daughter’s baby girl from an evil cult, all the while avoiding the devil’s assassin, known simply as “The Accountant.”

Aside from the Monte Carlo, there is also a wicked-looking blacked-out Dodge Charger driven by the beautiful Amber Heard. Chicks and Chargers just go so well together, don’t they? Then there is the scene with a Lincoln Mark VII jumping over and away from an explosion, a Buick Rivera busting through a gate, and the Accountant summoning a Hellish ’57 Bel Air. For an action flick, this movie is loaded with awesome cars, which may be reason enough to see it. Judging from the title, there will be plenty of angry, action-packed driving to go around.
