Royal Purple is a leading manufacturer of high performance synthetic lubricants, and every year they can be found at SEMA showing us their products. But for the past two years, they haven’t been going to the biggest automotive industry trade show alone. They’ve been bringing two lucky winners with them to show off their cars as part of the “Royal Purple Show It Off At SEMA” contest that was held on their Facebook Page.
The prior years winners, as we shared with you back in June, were a pair of very nice rides that were well deserving of the award. There was the El Nomado Pickup, owned by Joe Cherry; and the Galvatron Dodge Challenger, owned by Shawn Kaufman. The contest, which began on July 2 and ran through July 16, had people sending pics of their cars to the fan page.
Judging for this year’s contest was done the last week of July and the winners have been selected amongst their dozens of entries. The two winners will get to show their cars at the 2012 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center this fall, where they will be featured guests of Royal Purple.
This years winners are: Todd Foust, of Baton Rouge, LA, and his 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible that he calls “Black Diamond”, who will be parked right alongside the 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner belonging to Dennis Rostenbach of Gaffney, SC. These guys have two beautiful cars that are very deserving of the honor.
Todd’s Mustang sports a Ford Racing Boss 347 crate engine, modified suspension, Wilwood brakes and custom, one-off wheels with BFG tires. The interior is full custom, and so is the PPG Concept Black paint that makes this Mustang glisten.
Dennis’ Roadrunner is another custom build, powered by a 6.1L HEMI with a FAST engine management system. It also has a custom suspension with Wilwood brakes, and sports a set of Foose Knight wheels with Nitto tires.
Both cars are going to be a nice addition to the Royal Purple stable at the show this October 30 through November 2, so if you’re going to the show be sure to stop by the Royal Purple display and check out these cool rides in person. This is going to be a regular contest, so if you think your car has what it takes, then maybe next year you can Show It Off At SEMA, and be Royal Purple’s guest.
