Dodge is hitting the road (literally) during November and December of 2010 to promote the fastest of the Dodge fleet! On November 14 they kicked off a 30 city tour over 40 Days called the Hemi Highway Tour, with enthusiast stops planned all along the trip. The event launched at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, MI to an enthusiastic crowd and in the video below we get a sneak preview of the cars that they’ll be taking, the 2011 Charger R/T and the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392.
The trip is being captured completely at RedLetterDodge.com where blog entries and video tell the tale of the trip along with an interactive map of each location, dates where they will be at each stop, etc. Mopar diehards will be glad to know that the crew has stops lined up for Mr. Norms, the Don Garlits Museum, and will end the trip at SMS Supercars in Corona, CA.
The 2011 Charger has a body refresh and a completely new interior along with several other changes, with the new interior being the most striking change. The removal of the old center stack alone gives the interior much more of a hot rod feel than a “this looks just like the Caravan dash” feel.
The Challenger SRT8 392 is a new edition of the Challenger and will hit the road as well. Dodge plans to build 1,492 of the special edition Challengers, and with the heavily underrated 470 horsepower and 470 ft-lbs of torque, the new HEMI produces it should be a popular ride! The Challenger will also get some suspension tweaks to keep up with the massive motor along with a special interior package.
